About the Illustrator

Jon is an Oxford born illustrator and artist who transforms words and ideas into a visual language across a range of industry sectors.

His boundless skill-set has seen his work printed in a variety of publications from a range of children’s books to the 100 year old ‘The Countryman magazine’ and Amazon award winning business book ‘The Right Clients’.

As an industry chameleon, Jon has the ability to adapt to the needs of his audience and can generate timely clinical illustration as well as forming imaginative original ideas. His versatility has lead Jon down a variety of creative avenues including character based design and into the world of publishing.

With a deep connection for children’s books, it is no coincidence that Jon has dived comfortably into this environment. His work has been described as playful and engaging with a strong emphasis on the narrative. As a child, Jon was fixated on the brilliance delivered by illustrators such as Tony Ross, Raymond Briggs, Colin McNaughton, Frank Rodgers and Janet and Allan Ahlberg. This fascination with bringing words to life through images never waned and only grew stronger for Jon, leading to his first children’s book publication ‘The hairbrush dodging ninja’.

His goal is to simply recreate the special moments and feelings he had as a child when his imagination was sparked by some of the great illustrators who’s books he became immersed in.

“Illustration is a doorway to greater things. Not only does it engage a child to learn and read but it also allows you to escape this world and move into another.”
